WBMu v3.1.0 Beta coming soon…

Well… As 42 suspended, soon I will also suspend doing updates for a while. But before my suspension, I will think of releasing 2 WBMu updates “WBM v3.1.0 Beta and v3.1.1 Beta”. I am at the final progress of WBMu v3.1.0 Beta and I think It will be ready tomorrow. This patch includes WBM v3.0.9 Beta + missing European leagues (except Finnish League) + EuroChallenge Cup. What I think about WBMu v3.1.1 Beta is to add Finnish League.

42 suspends

People tell that if your hobby prevent you from doing your job, then quit a job. Well, i coudn’t. So i decided to suspend my wbmu updating after i saw that all this week i hadn’t a minute to sit for wbm updates and i don’t see any prospect in future. Of course i’ll be near wbm, and will help hades or others update this game :)

For all who wants to update WBMu rosters

There are ~20000 players in this game, so you understand that two of us physically won’t update this game. That’s why i decided to call for your, wbm players, help. If you know basketball enough to update database, reply here or in any other way (skype – keturidu, email – keturidu@gmail.com) and we’ll talk how to cooperate.

Rules are simple:

1) You update only one league at once, using default WBM data editor.

2) You send me your big.wbmgame file.

3) I update our database with your edited players. All players that doesn’t play any more in league you update, automatically (well, by me) stands as free agents (of course, if later someone updates league in which would participate player (s) who has been set to “free agent” he’ll be assigned to a new team). More league would be updated, more accurate database would be.

New BETA release

I’m releasing new beta version 3.0.9 of wbmu which is stable and working. Now i simulate 2010 year, and will do it more one or two more seasons. Hades also has this database and will be testing it soon.

It has new Euroleauge system and new EuroCup system. Latvian league will have to wait until i’m ready to test it. Because, as i mentioned before i had strange bug with it and don’t want to waste my time again. Maybe later :)

Beijing

Currently i’m testing wbm with new Euroleague and EuroCup systems. There were problems with Latvian league new format, so i had to update everything again, that’s why i took so long. Latvian new format will have to wait for it’s chance. Now my prioritee is to finish testing of new european leagues and to organize rosters updating. Volunteers are highly waited. Thanks to hades, who made EuroCup tables, i pasted them (with some minor changes) to our update and have succesfuly tested it for one season. Currently i’m working on new Euroleague format (with six teams in preliminary groups and best of five quarter finals) also i’ll add some randomness in deciding which teams would play in Euroleague preliminary groups, because, i think it’s boring to play every season with almost same teams. I’m testing it and, i think we’ll release WBMu 3.0.8 beta soon. With new Euroleague, EuroCup and new Latvian league (at last :D )

One League left “Finland”

I’m proud to announce that we are about to finish all european major competitions:) After I finished Hungarian league yesterday now there is only “Finland” left. I hope we can finish it soon. I have also EuroCup and BIBL finished but there is a problem with EuroChallenge. I think Thanasis can solve it.

I’m preparing to release new version of WBMu which includes:

• Polish league bug fix (when clicking on Polish league tablein playoffs in threw you out to windows. That was because bad phase table. I think this bug comes from 1.8.2 version, but because nobody plays polish league, the bug hasn’t been fixed until now)
• New Lithuanian league tournament – 11 teams championship *tested
• New Estonian league playoff system – more phases *tested
• New Latvian league – thanks to maci_maci who created 8 teams, i’ll update Latvian league to it’s real state – 16 teams championship and mfking super playoff system *still in progress and testing
• New Lithuanian 2nd league system – 17 teams and new playoff system which is more real. *works fine, just i got bad final standings table. Would be corrected.
• Stats for all teams – i’ve forgot to enter newly added league’s teams to stats, so it will threw you out to windows, while trying to view statistics of those teams. *would be done in very near future. WBMu 2 patches would be updated too, and it would be named WBMu v 2.1

These version of update would be named WBMu 3.x BETA

It’s not because it would be unstable or not working (we’re doing our best to test it before realease). It’s because this version of update would be a core to 2008-2009 season update which we’ll release, as i mentioned before in autumn with new rosters and it will be called FINAL version of update. That means, you’ll have new system of championships, but old teams rosters in BETA versions of game.

p.s. to those who likes numbers, if in 1.8.2 version of oficial update there were ~240 teams in Europe, so now WBMu 2 version has more than 400 european teams!

After long (very long) hours of talking with numbers in db, i proudly announce about WBMu 2 release!

New Adriatic league:

Changed Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian leagues. Sorry all Serbian fans for deleting fake second league and Serbian Cup. It’s because i’m short in Serbian teams. Also sorry Slovenian fans, if there are any, because i couldn’t make their league as it is. I don’t know how 2nd and 3rd place teams plays in both domestic and Adriatic leagues at the same time. So i made in the same model like Serbia and Croatia or Bosnia.

Sorry, there will be no Montenegro team in the game, because there is no such country of Montenegro in the game. It is not my fault, just game’s engine isn’t updated. I hope that in WBM 2 there would be this country.

The game has been simulated for one season smoothly. Screenshots would come later.

I know that i promised to do more (better team control, friendly games for all teams and so on) but this updating takes huge amount of free time, so i have to “stop horses” for some time. I have many plans how i (or we) could update this game and i decided to release them separate from this really huge update, which took to prepare for release about two months from me. I’m not talking about hades, who’s working on leagues 25 hours in a day :)

So that’s my plans for the near future releases:

• Latvian league update (thanks maci maci for creating teams!) I know that this was promised to do long time ago, and i’ll try to update it as fast as possible.
• More possibilities to manage the team
• Friendly games for all European teams

Plans for autumn:

• Corrected estonian league schedule and more playoffs for them
• Corrected Lituanian league with new 11 teams format
• Corrected BBL league with new format
• New  EuroCup and Challenger Cup (hades sended me created tables without teams participating, but i even hadn’t look at it :( )
• European teams rosters update for season 2008-2009
